There is a great, very short-term sale going on now!

card_iconI sent out an e-card on Wednesday from my web site announcing the sale.  Since I don’t always have enough time to do a full posting here at The Stamp Lady I try to get the word out through the e-cards.  However, only 1 out of every 3 cards have been viewed.  To keep these messages from heading straight to the Spam or Junk Mail folder, please take a moment right now to add this address to your address book – no-reply@stampinup.info

I have also noticed that some email programs will block the e-cards and you may need to click something in order to allow the message to load.  If you have any question about this please contact me.

Emails
I have recently changed computers and I’m still working to sort out all my programs and files.  In an attempt to simplify, I have merged my two email accounts.  So, it does not matter which email address you use to communicate with me.  I am checking them both a couple of times a day.

The Stamp-a-Stack Class of Christmas Cards on Sunday was a success!  Everyone had fun making their stack of cards.

However, the turn out this year was small and I think the designs came out “stinkin’ cute.”  So, to give more folks an opportunity to make these fun cards, I am repeating the class.  I know that the date I’ve chosen is during the Thanksgiving holiday, but it is the only weekend that I have open.

STAMP-A-STACK: CHRISTMAS CARDS
Sunday, November 30
1:00 to 6:00 – Open House Style
Shannon’s House – 523 Charlotte Avenue
Class Fee $20 – can be paid at the class

Stock up on some Holiday Cards!  In this class, you will make 12 cards, 3 each of 4 different designs.  Envelopes are included and can be decorated as time allows.  This is an Open House Style class.  You need to plan on about 3 hours to complete your projects so, please arrive between 1:00 and 3:00 p.m.  Class space is limited so please reserve your spot by November 26.

To register – call: 269-345-5739 or email: sclemens@ameritech.net OR merfner@yahoo.com

I have included photos of the cards below but the scans just don’t do them justice.  You miss out on so much of the glitter and shine.

October Club Projects November 11, 2008

As part of my catch-up plan, I want to share the projects from the October gathering of the Stampers Club.

crabco-fold-1

This project is called a “spring card” since when you pull up on the top . . .

crabco-fold-1a

. . . it “springs” open.  The card can be made any size, just make the height twice the width.  This card started with 4 1/4″ x 8 1/2″ of Pacific Point, and closed it is 4 1/4″ square.  The top corners were cut off after the folds were made.

Stamp Set:  Crab & Company
Card Stocks:  Whisper White, Pacific Point, Riding Hood Red, Summer Sun
Inks:  Basic Black, Pacific Point, Riding Hood Red, Summer Sun
Accessories: Sandy Shell wheel, Rose Red marker, Hobby Blade

For the other project, I brought out the Handmade Holiday Simply Sent Card Kit, the “To You & Yours” stamp set, and coordinating inks, card stocks, and punches.  Then I let everyone create their own design.  Each card was different and everyone had fun working from the kit basics and putting their own twist on them. (Some images were taken with my camera and are poorer quality than the ones I scanned.)

Update November 9, 2008

It has been quiet here at the blog but it has certainly been a busy month for me!

chenery-frontAt Chenery Auditorium, it was pretty stressful the week leading up to the first show, with tons of final installations, several inspections, and painters working on every last nook and cranny.

One of the changes with this renovation is that we will now open up the lobby area early and take tickets at each auditorium entrance doors.  This change requires more than tripled the front-of-house staff than we previously needed.  So, we hired Staffing Inc to provide ticket takers, ushers, and area managers.  I did the majority of the training for all these new folks. (By the way, while we have enough staff at the moment, we are still open for some more people.  You can email Katie at Staffing Inc to apply.)

We had three successful events in just over the first week of the season!  The new personnel is doing a great job and we have gotten many compliments on the new additions inside the seating area.  There are a few new pictures at the web site.

I now have a couple weeks before the next show that I need to work. Now, I’m catching up on life! I am also preparing posts on the current specials and upcoming classes.   Plus, I have lots of samples to share!

More coming soon!
