Open House & Flea Market June 18, 2009

My annual Open House & Flea Market is coming soon!
Open House & Flea Market
Saturday, June 27
9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
Shannon’s house:
523 Charlotte Avenue, Kalamazoo
OPEN HOUSE – The Open House portion is two-fold.
It is the last chance to purchase any of the retiring stamp sets, the current In Colors items, and the retiring accessories from the 2008 Spring/Summer Idea Book & Catalog. To see all the retiring items, go to my web site and click on Shop Now. The Specials link will show you what’s on its way out and which ones are on sale!
We will also be welcoming the new 2009-10 Idea Book & Catalog! Yes! I will have some of the new catalogs on hand. Get your own copy and see all the great new stamps, the new In Colors, and the fun new accessories. Orders from the new catalog can be placed at the Open House and will be submitted on July 1 when the catalog begins.
FLEA MARKET – The annual Flea Market is always a popular event full of bargains galore!
The Flea Market includes various crafting items, especially many retired Stampin’ Up! products. You can shop for stamps, inks, ribbons, papers, wheels, tools, and much more! While many of the items are from paper crafting, there will be several items from scrapbooking, needle crafts and more.
Don’t miss out on the bargains!
SELLING AT THE FLEA MARKET – Do you have some extra craft supplies that you would like to include in the Flea Market sale? Both demonstrators and customers are welcome to bring over items a few days before the event. Each item needs a tag with the price you would like to receive and your initials. I can help with pricing suggestions.
I am instituting a new policy for sellers this year. Since the Flea Market is a lot of work for me, I need to know that I will make some money and that there will be lots of folks stopping by to shop. With that in mind, I will be taking a 10% commission on all items sold. This amount can drop down to just a 5% commission by sending shoppers to the Flea Market. For each person that you send, and purchases items from the Flea Market, I will drop 1% off the commission, up to 5% off. You can count as one of these shoppers. So, be sure to come buy, and bring along several of your friends.
Contact me with questions and to arrange a time for dropping off your sale items.

Christmas Card Class REPEATED! November 17, 2008

The Stamp-a-Stack Class of Christmas Cards on Sunday was a success! Everyone had fun making their stack of cards.
However, the turn out this year was small and I think the designs came out “stinkin’ cute.” So, to give more folks an opportunity to make these fun cards, I am repeating the class. I know that the date I’ve chosen is during the Thanksgiving holiday, but it is the only weekend that I have open.

I have included photos of the cards below but the scans just don’t do them justice. You miss out on so much of the glitter and shine.
Adorable punch art penguins.
Incorporating my other hobby, postage stamps.
There are three image options for this design which uses metallic paper, inks, and embossing. Very sparkly!
There are eight cute holiday choices for the main image.

Upcoming Events October 15, 2008
Posted by Shannon in Events.comments closed
Life is just so busy right now that unfortunately I am not able to offer a class for October. However, I already have classes planned for November and December – see details below.
One of the things keeping me busy are the preparations for re-opening Chenery Auditorium. If you are not aware, I started working at Chenery 20 years ago, in the backstage area as the Stage Manager and Lighting Designer. I spent 8 1/2 years as the Manager of Kasdorf Auditorium at Loy Norrix High School (which is run under Chenery Auditorium). For the past several years, I have worked part-time back at Chenery. I am currently the assistant to the Auditorium Manager, a House Manager, and the Head Usher. Renovations that began in June are almost complete, just barely in time for the first concert on October 25. You can see a few pictures at the auditorium web site. This beautiful, historic facility is a gem in the community and I love being a part of its operation. It also hold a special place in my heart since this is where Dave and I met and had our wedding.
Once I get through the programs at the end of October, I will be able to focus more time back onto my stamping. So, mark your calender for these upcoming events.

I have returned from another awesome Stampin’ Up! Convention!
I learned a bunch of new project ideas, got tons of swaps to share, and had lots of fun. I didn’t get much sleep for the past week and on Sunday, I came down with a bad cold. So, I’ve spent the past couple of days recuperating. As I sort through everything, I will begin sharing some of the many great ideas.
A huge thanks to my husband, Dave, who made sure that you got all the posts this past week that I had prepared for you. Are you getting excited to see the new catalog? It is awesome – great artwork in the stamp sets, beautiful samples, and fun new accessories. I hope you are saving up your pennies, and quarters, and dollars . . .
